Nga Manu Korero Northland College Writing Recount

Nga Manu Korero
Northland College

I skimmed and looked at how Rangimaria presented
her speech about her and her papa, it was breathtaking.
Her expression, her hand gestures were astonishing. she
walked around the stage performing her astonishing speech
without looking lost. She spoke clearly I could tell she did
her best because she got my attention.
I didn’t understand some of the words and the only thing I could
think of was what I was taught and that is to  pick up words
I already know like Moana. Papatuanuku and te (the).

She walked step by step after she stopped she does a facial
expression to match what she is saying she then starts
pointing at the taonga. She was wearing a uniform
underneath a black coated jacket, a black skirt on top
of tights therefore wearing beautiful earrings and a
beautiful smile. Every time she walked or moved she
looked like a model on the catwalk her earrings would
move with her making her stand out more, so she knew
she had command and she knew she was being listened to.

It was raining but still her voice was on top
she could be heard. She started with a waiata
and she is not nervous, she’s not panicking, she is
awesome, astonishing I don’t have anymore words
but my vote is on her
She grabbed my attention I hope she won.
We need more speakers like her.
